ROLE SUMMARY
WEX is hiring Freshers / Entry-Level candidates for the Software Development Engineer 1 (SDE 1) role in Bangalore. This is a full-time opportunity to start your software engineering career, working on backend systems that power global fleet and mobility payment solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Write robust, scalable, and high-performance object-oriented code (primarily Java)
- Contribute to microservices and REST API development using Spring Boot
- Build automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests
- Learn and apply DevOps practices including CI/CD, containerization, and observability
- Collaborate with a global engineering team on production systems
- Grow technical skills while delivering business impact
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms
- Exposure to backend development, RESTful APIs, and relational databases
- Familiarity with tools like Git, Jenkins, and basic containerization (Docker)
- Curiosity, willingness to learn, and commitment to high-quality engineering practices
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
ELIGIBILITY
- Fresher / Entry-Level (0–1 or 1–3 years preferred in some postings)
- Full-time role in Bangalore
- Strong problem-solving skills and interest in building scalable software
- Package: Up to ₹14 LPA (approx.)
