Software Engineer - Intermediate

Equifax is seeking creative, high-energy software engineers with hands-on development skills to work on meaningful projects. This Intermediate Software Engineer role in Pune involves building and operating high-scale applications from backend to UI, focusing on operational excellence, security, and scalability in a hybrid work setting.

• Perform general application development activities, including unit testing, code deployment, and technical documentation
• Work on one or more projects and contribute to unfamiliar code written by team members
• Participate in estimation, use case specifications, test plan reviews, requirements, and project planning
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues
• Document code and processes for easy collaboration
• Develop and operate high-scale applications from backend to UI layer
• Apply modern practices such as serverless computing, microservices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code
• Participate in technology roadmap and architecture discussions
• Triage product/system issues and lead Sprint deliverables for medium-complexity problems

• 2+ years experience with software design and Java, Python, and JavaScript
• 2+ years with build tools like Maven or Gradle
• 2+ years with HTML, CSS, and frontend/web development
• 2+ years with software testing, performance, and quality engineering
• 2+ years with Cloud technology (GCP, AWS, or Azure)
• Preferred: Angular, Bootstrap, Spring Boot, Microservices, Git, Relational databases, JUnit, Agile practices

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of relevant software engineering experience
• Location: Pune, India (Hybrid work setting)
