Forward Deployed Engineer

Razorpay is one of India’s leading full-stack financial technology companies, powering the way businesses move, manage, and grow money. Founded in 2014, it processes $180+ billion in annualized transactions and serves startups to large enterprises including Airbnb, Meta, and over 100 Indian unicorns, with operations across India, Singapore, and Malaysia.

You are a senior engineer embedded with one of Razorpay’s largest merchants. You own their technical success end-to-end — from solutioning to go-live — using a stack of AI agents. You build, ship, and own solutions for strategic merchants like Nvidia, Airbnb, Meta, and Shopify, turning vague business asks into production systems.

• Own a merchant’s technical success as the single engineering face they see
• Scope and solution by sitting with merchant engineering and business teams to define clear technical plans
• Build and ship production code in Razorpay’s systems and (where allowed) the merchant’s repo
• Use AI agents at full strength for coding, knowledge, and incident triage
• Feed successful patterns back into the platform product pods
• Keep the merchant informed with regular progress cadence and acknowledge issues within 2 hours

• SDE2+ level (4+ years; exceptional candidates with less considered)
• Strong hands-on coding in Python and one of Java/Go/TypeScript
• Experience with APIs, webhooks, integration patterns, cloud (AWS/GCP), and distributed systems
• Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of shipped solutions, ideally with customer contact
• Fluency with AI coding tools and agents used daily
• Comfort with ambiguity and turning vague asks into clear specs
• Strong communication to explain complex systems to non-technical stakeholders

• 4+ years of relevant experience (SDE2+)
• Location: Bengaluru
• Hands-on solutions architect or data/ML engineer background with real shipping experience preferred
