ABOUT THE COMPANY
Huvo AI is an early-stage B2B SaaS and AI company building an AI Sales OS for real estate. Its platform automates sales workflows through AI-powered voice and chat interactions, telephony, WhatsApp/CRM integrations, scheduling, and reporting.
ROLE SUMMARY
As a Founding Backend Engineer, you will build and own the backend systems powering Huvo AI's real-time voice/chat interactions, campaign execution, data pipelines, integrations, and customer-facing reliability. The role requires strong Python backend engineering skills, real-time systems experience, and the ability to integrate AI/ML capabilities into production systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build and ship Python backend services for campaigns, lead orchestration, reporting, and integrations.
- Design and maintain scalable REST APIs and internal services.
- Build real-time systems using event-driven pipelines, queues, streaming workflows, and low-latency services.
- Implement caching, performance optimizations, rate limiting, retries, idempotency, and observability.
- Integrate telephony, STT/TTS providers, LLM endpoints, WhatsApp, and CRM APIs.
- Own monitoring, incident response, deployment hygiene, and cost-performance tuning.
- Collaborate with the founder on architecture, product decisions, and roadmap priorities.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Strong Python backend engineering experience.
- Solid understanding of REST APIs, authentication, and API design.
- Experience with real-time systems, webhooks, queues, event processing, and background workers.
- Practical knowledge of Redis or similar caching technologies, databases, and performance debugging.
- Basic understanding of AI/ML concepts including LLMs, STT/TTS, embeddings, and model/API integration.
- Comfortable taking end-to-end ownership in an ambiguous startup environment.
- DevOps experience with Docker, CI/CD, Kubernetes, GCP, or AWS is a plus.
- Experience with distributed systems, Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS, voice/telephony, WebRTC, or B2B SaaS is a plus.
