Junior Backend Software Engineer

Finominal is a global financial technology company focused on empowering investors with technology, data, and research. It builds a platform for professional investors to get an independent, data-driven perspective on funds and portfolios across global markets. Its insights are frequently featured in the WSJ, FT, and other leading media.

This is a Junior Backend Software Engineer role for early-career developers (freshers / 0-2 years) who want to work on real production systems and take ownership early. You will work directly with the CTO on the systems that power Finominal, focusing on making the platform faster, safer, and more reliable while handling real financial data and APIs.

• Make Finominal faster, safer, and more reliable
• Improve API performance, testing, monitoring, and production stability
• Find security gaps, slow APIs, database bottlenecks, and production issues before users feel them
• Build dashboards, alerts, and monitoring tools (Sentry, Grafana)
• Use AI to automate internal engineering workflows
• Work on AI-powered product features and backend systems
• Work on production systems with real users, real APIs, and real financial data

• Strong programming ability in Python
• Good understanding of backend development, APIs, databases, and basic web security
• Experience with Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar backend frameworks (highly valued)
• Comfortable working from the Bangalore office every day
• Notice period of less than 2 months preferred

• Completed degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a closely related technical field
• 0 to 2 years of experience (Freshers / Entry-Level welcome)
• Full-time, On-site in Bengaluru
