Software Engineer (Backend-Heavy)

Magica is an autonomous AI super agent platform that lets users describe work and have it executed end-to-end. It runs state-of-the-art AI models, has a full computer with browser and storage, connects to tools like Gmail, Drive and Slack, and works across web and messaging channels.

You will build the platform where users give Magica work and watch it execute. The role is backend-heavy and focuses on the server-side agent runtime, orchestration, connected services, and keeping the web experience consistent with Magica’s presence on WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage.

• Build orchestration UX including sub-agent state, streaming partial output, memory exposure, interrupts and approvals
• Develop connected services that let users plug Gmail, Drive, Slack and other tools into Magica
• Maintain channels so the web experience stays consistent with Magica on WhatsApp, Telegram and iMessage
• Design systems that handle probabilistic and asynchronous agent behavior with monitoring and evals from day one
• Ship features primarily by directing coding agents rather than writing all code by hand

• Portfolio of real things you have shipped
• Ability to take an ambiguous spec, scope it, and ship something usable in days
• Prior work on AI or agent products is a plus
• Comfort working in a fast-moving codebase with regular refactors and limited documentation
